In 1971, Massimo Laverda asked designer Luciano Zen to transform his 750 SF roadster into a production racer. Zen reworked the roadster significantly, creating the Super Freni Competizione (SFC) in 1972, which was a hand-built and devastatingly effective endurance racer. For 1974 the SFC was offered as a road-legal production racer, complete with lights and turn signals (which owners quickly removed!). The 750 SFC was a stone-reliable hot rod with amazing styling, making it an apex factory-built café racer.
